The Shift Doctors (Tracy Latz, M.D. & Marion Ross, Ph.D.) recently took a trip to Sedona to experience the famed energy vortexes – and boy could we feel it!! Our guide on our journey was our friend Randy Fridley who moved to Sedona after experiencing for himself the healing energies of the Sedona vortexes. To read more about his personal story see our earlier post ‘Sedona Cure by Randy Fridley’.
What is a Vortex?
A vortex is a motion of spiraling energy. Sedona has been described as a spiritual power center because of the vortexes of subtle energy coming out from the surface of the earth which can be measured by residual magnetism in the places where it is strongest.
There are 4 main energy vortexes in Sedona that we could really feel! These areas are said to resonate with and strengthen people that come within about a quarter of a mile to half a mile of them. It is easy to feel these energies if the person is at all sensitive to energies and is quite uplifting to most people who do feel it. The energy can have a very positive effect on many people that can last for days after the exposure. People come from all over the world to experience these vortexes.
Where is the Strongest Energy Located? How Can you tell?
Juniper trees love this vortex energy and grow in areas where the energy is strongest. The stronger the energy flowing through the area, the greater the axial twist noted in the trunks and branches of the juniper tree. The energy can even be great enough to cause the tree limb to bend. The energy is strongest at points where vortexes and leylines meet or cross paths. See the above video for more details on how to find leylines easily.
What are the 4 Major Energy Vortexes in Sedona?
While there are minor vortexes to be found throughout the Red Rock region, the 4 primary or best known energy vortexes in Sedona include: The Airport Vortex, Red Rock Crossing/Cathedral Rock Vortex, Boynton Canyon Vortex, and Bell Rock Vortex.
We would recommend this area for a visit if you have interest in energy vortexes!
Loads of healing Light to you all!

I’ve been to Sedona and the spiritual healing energy is. Incredible!
Thanks for the story! I enjoyed your take on Sedona. Some of the older ways of seeing Sedona’s energy have been “updated,” let’s say. We no longer think there are 4 “spots” (energy appears to be widespread, although these 4 places are easily accessible); juniper tree twist is not a factor (it happens all over the Southwest); nor is the energy necessarily spiraling. However, you are right on target that Sedona is a special place, a sacred site. Best of all, with the right intention, Sedona can foster shift. We had an opportunity to spend some time at the site on Airport Road a couple of years ago. Beautiful views from all around. Very subtle experience, but I did come away with an answer to a question. Still not quite sure what to make of it, but it hasn’t gone away.
