How to Stop Self-Judgement in Weight

Weight Loss, Dieting and Self-Judgment as a Means of Sabotage

Alternative Medicine, Body/Mind/Spirit, Consciousness, Holistic Living, Integrative Medicine, News, Tracy Latz MD

How to Stop Self-Judgement in WeightWeight Loss and Dieting Often Come with Judgment

Does anyone else freak out a bit when people start noticing your weight loss? I had a friend tell me: “I have tried so many diets in the past and while this one is working the best by far – somehow I’m still afraid of failure.”

Yes- fear of failure as well as fear of success is a very common pitfall for dieters or even people just self-conscious about weight issues. Who else fears failure from time to time? How can we change our thinking on this as a group?

When a friend or family member comments on your weight loss it can trigger feelings of now being watched closely for how the weight loss continues – or doesn’t. Fear of judgment and sense of guilt or shame if one feels like they are not upholding the path conveyed of weight loss can cause a person to give up, stop their healthy habits, or self-sabotage in other ways.

Conversely, if a person grows up in a family where many are overweight- or if one has a significant other who is overweight- then comments from these persons can start creating a fear that if you succeed in weight loss, then you no longer ‘belong’ since you are not ‘like’ them anymore. It can create self-sabotage through fear of abandonment by your self-identified group/how you have defined yourself.

SOLUTIONS!! Try these easy exercises to shift your mindset!

Overcome Holiday Stress

Holidays Can Be Stressful! Are you ready to de-stress?

1.    Set realistic expectations. The greatest way to find disappointment in the holiday season is to set unrealistic expectations. If we focus on having a “perfect” holiday or on competing with the greatest holiday season in our memory, then we are indeed likely to be disappointed and overly stressed as we sense our dream rapidly going down the drain. Don’t be judgmental of the experience in advance or as it is occurring in the moment. If we expect the holidays to be dreadfully terrible, then they likely will be as we will only be able to see all that is wrong since that is what we are looking for at every moment. Welcome to 7 Abundance Hacks For Success in Any Situation Hack Strategy 2: Define Yourself with Dr. Tracy Latz and Dr. Marion Ross from shiftyourlife.com.

Today, we’re going to look closely into how we all define ourselves. That’s a really big question. Who are we anyway? There are a lot of different ways to look. You can look within or without to decide Who We Are.

Are we winners? Are we losers? Are we what we do? Are we who we are in these bodies? Are we French, American, Canadian, or Asian? Are we our religion or faith? Wars have been waged over this.

What about our education? Which middle school did you go to? Which university did you go to? Did you go to Business School?

Are we our possessions? How big is my car? How big is your car? Social status? Politics? Physical attributes? Do blondes really have more fun?

Age—are we old? Are we young? Are we middle-aged? Are we sick? Are we well? What’s our state of health at any given moment? I don’t know.

Are you a Charlotte Hornet? Am I a Chicago White Sox fan? It makes no difference. But people do define themselves by their sports teams.

Are you a parent? Are you married? Are you divorced?

What pools all of these is our ego. It’s how we define ourselves very frequently.

Why do we define ourselves that way? Well, we’re trained like that. We’re shaped by society, by the media, by our parents, by our teachers, by our educational institutions, by religious figures, and culture in general.

What do we do? We identify with everything that we are not. We internalized this false perception of reality and eventually accept it as our own. What does this create? It creates a sense of separation, a sense of lack of unity, as we perceive ourselves to be in competition for limited resources.

So we grow up and start looking out. Our society has completely perfected it to the art of distraction of looking out. We’ve gone from being heart-centered as children to becoming fear-based as adults. Often, it takes a crisis in our lives to cause our attachments to be wrenched from our grasp and to strip our ego, to force us to begin to look within.

Meditation is a great way to start looking within. But it’s not so easy for all people. I don’t happen to have a Lotus Flower at home. It took me a long time to learn to meditate without one. But even I did learn. We’ve taught courses in meditation—even “Meditation for People Who Can’t”.

Actually everyone can meditate. What you think meditation is, isn’t necessarily what meditation is. What is meditation? It’s an issue of being very much aware actually, mindfully of what’s going on outside of you and inside of you.

It doesn’t have to be sitting like this Guru-looking guy on the lotus. It can be a moving meditation. It could be a walking meditation. It could be just a breathing meditation following your breath. There are so many different ways to get out of your thoughts. I think that’s basically what it is—just to get out of all that flood of chatter in your head. Find some peace within.

The whole point of this Abundance Hack is getting people to understand more of who they truly are. With a quiet mind, you can really connect with who you are rather than all this physical stuff that we believe is Who We Are.

We believe we’re this body, or our thoughts and our emotions, or all the stuff we have. When we do that, we really limit our awareness of how wondrous the world really is. How we are part of this whole field of the universe. How we truly manifest within it, when we draw back our bow like we talked about in the previous session.

We’re all connected. As Tracy said, we’re connected through this big field of energy. What we do when we try to define ourselves through our possessions, through our body, through a multitude of things that we’ve learned over time is create separation. You create a sense that you never belong or you only belong if you’re within your small tribe.

So we’re going to talk about Who Am I in a much, much deeper level, without any of the distraction, without any of the labels. Mindfulness meditation is a great way to do it. It’s an old Buddhist way to meditate. It’s thousands of years old. The Chinese were doing mindfulness as well.

We have online courses that last about five weeks on nothing but learning how to Awaken Your Awareness through mindfulness meditation. Today we’re just giving you a small piece where you connect with Who You Are.

You can do it in one of two ways. You can either pair up with a partner, or you can do it by yourself.

When you pair up with the partner you look into their eyes, and you say, “Who are you?” And then whatever comes out comes out. So I look into Marion’s eyes very deeply, and I say, “Who are you?”

I’m a doctor. I’m a lawyer. I’m an Indian chief. I’m a mother. Yes. But Who Are You really? I’m a spirit in a body. I’m a tennis player.

What you do is you keep asking the person or have another person ask you over and over. Get the person to take it deeper. Take it levels deeper until they really hit the core of who they truly are.

Now another way to do this mindfulness meditation is to actually sit in front of a mirror. I tell people to do this not with bright blaring lights on because many people will look at it and they’ll say, “I look so wrinkled.” Or they’ll start focusing on physical attributes. The point of this meditation is to look deeply into your own eyes.

Ask your own self, “Who am I?” If you do it in a mirror where maybe you only have candlelight around, this can be a very profound experience because it will go deeper and deeper. When you take the time to just be present with your own self.

What’s your experience been with this, Marion? Candlelight is very, very helpful. You look in the mirror with a candle. You just go, “Who am I?” You have all the blah, blah coming out first. You just have to go through the layers of being whatever you think you are. Start feeling. Then you have to connect with your heart.

The first thing you have to do is blah, blah your way out of your chatter, all that head talk that you’ve got. It’s all the training that we’ve had since kindergarten. This is Who We Are. Then you go deeper when you’re in your heart. You start feeling Who You Are instead of Thinking Who You Are, and that’s when the magic starts.

So I would recommend that everyone do it. It’s not easy to do. It’s very, very tough especially for someone like me who is very left-brained. But once you get out of the chatter and into the heart, you can start revealing who you are without fear. There’s really nothing to fear. You are Who You Are.

Another thing that people have trouble with is looking at themselves in the mirror and looking into their own eyes. How often do people look into their own eyes? They look at their makeup. They look at their nose. They look at their hair. They never look deeply into their own eyes. So don’t be afraid to do it. There’s nothing to be afraid of. This is who you really are. You’re going to find out how beautiful you are. You’re not going to find out how flawed you are. I promise you that. It seems very simple but it’s very profound.

We’d like to have you experience your True Essence. What is your True Essence? Your True Essence is what many people refer to as your higher self—the soul if you will. It is the aspect of you that knows your purpose, knows where you’ve been, and where you’re going. It’s there supporting you at every moment. You’re not usually in touch with your True Essence. So this is to help connect you with who you truly are.

Find a comfortable position. Sitting, standing, or laying down. Get comfortable. Now close your eyes and take three slow deep breaths.

With each breath, breathe in gold and white light. Feel that light entering into your lungs traveling into your bloodstream and from there, journeying to every cell, atom, and molecule in your body.

As you exhale, feel yourself releasing any negativity that is within you. Until eventually, you are completely filled with light. And exhaling light out into the room. Sense the room filling with light.

Now see or sense yourself standing outdoors in a peaceful place that you know well. Feel the warmth of the sun on your face. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and sense of this serene place and nature.

Up ahead is a beautiful path of light. Feel yourself stepping onto this path of light. Feel yourself lifting higher and lighter, lighter and freer, freer and lighter. Gently spiraling upward until you find yourself arriving at a gateway.

This is the entryway to your personal paradise. The Garden of your True Essence. Continue on this path of light passing through the gate. Notice the wondrous, abundant garden filled with tranquility, peace, and love. Be aware of all the beauty. As you continue to follow the path, it winds around a turn that you cannot yet see beyond. You wonder what is ahead.

Continue to follow the path. As you round the turn, you are awed at the panoramic scene that stands before you. There is a vast and breathtaking sea extending out into the horizon. It draws you to the water’s edge. Feel the healing ocean breeze as it caresses you. Breathe in the healing gentle wind and feel yourself completely relaxing.

Now call your name three times silently from the center of your heart, beckoning to your True Essence to come forward. Watch as your True Self appears in the distance on the beach and slowly walks towards you. Your True Essence appears to you in its most enlightened form.

Observe the feet of your True Self as he or she stands before you. Notice every detail as you slowly lift your gaze upward until eventually, you are looking directly into the eyes of your own True Essence. Feel the beauty of your True Essence and become aware of the qualities that make your True Self who they are. You are gazing into your own soul. The Essence of who you truly are.

Feel your True Self place their hands of light upon your heart. Feel your own True Essence reawakening your qualities and innate gifts that have been long forgotten. Sense those abilities and qualities flowing into you. Feel the completeness as you recognize and remember who you really are. Look deep into the eyes of your true self. Feel their absolute acceptance and unconditional love for you exactly as you are right now.

Your True Self puts their arms around you. And gently holds you. Feel yourself letting go completely in the arms of your True Self. Now feel your True Essence merge with you. Feel the Oneness. Feel the power. Feel the healing that comes with the unity.

When you feel that you are ready to return to your physical world, feel yourself stepping once again on to the Path of Light, taking with you all of your reawakened gifts and abilities. So that you may express them in your life and in the world. Place your hand on your heart and feel your love and strength knowing that there is nothing that you cannot accomplish.

When you feel yourself fully present in this room, fully present in your body, take a slow deep breath. As you exhale, gently open your eyes. Take a few minutes after that meditation just to let yourself integrate. It’s a pretty profound one, and you may have to do it a few times.

Now we’re going to do another exercise called Becoming Aware of Your True Qualities.

So we all have names. My name is Marion, okay, M – Marvelous, Magnificent. You find a great quality or word corresponding to each letter of your name. What you’re going to do is write down on a piece of paper your name. With each letter down the left-hand side vertically. For instance, if your name were Robert. You would write:

R

O

B

E

R

T

For each letter, you choose the qualities you want for change. I mean, we usually focus on the negative. We’re very judgmental of ourselves.

In this exercise, you’re going to open your heart for yourself. You’re actually going to focus on the most positive aspects of who you are. So for each letter of your name, you are to come up with three words that are positive qualities for you. It can’t be in a judgmental way.

Tracy, what are T’s? Terrific, Talented, Truthful. Marion? I told you already, Magnificent, Magical. It is so very hard to do for yourself. There’s no question. Open your heart and search because it’s a very worthwhile exercise to change the way you start looking at yourself.

The more you practice it, the better you get. It’s like looking in the mirror to ask Who You Are. You need to get out of your head and into your heart. Open your heart for yourself and have a great deal of self-love to start nourishing your soul at this point.

Once you have written out three positive qualities, you become aware of your own self for each letter of your name. No cheating! They have to be different. If you have two O’s or two R’s like Robert, you can’t reuse. You can’t go to the dictionary either. So sit with it for a while.

Then what you do is for the next few days, every time you hear someone call your name, imagine that they’re calling out Radiant, Relevant, Resourceful instead of Robert. Embrace it. Own it. Step into it. Allow yourself to feel the qualities of that True Essence that you just met.

If you’re a mother or father or go by a title and people are always going “Mom” or “Dad,” then do this exercise with each letter of that.

Another wonderful exercise to do is to acknowledge your joys and blessings. Actually, before I get out of bed in the morning—and I tell this to patients—it’s not just thinking about five things you feel grateful for. It’s actually allowing yourself to feel five things you’re grateful for. Then people say, “I can’t even imagine what I need to do.”  Well, when you open your eyes in the morning, be grateful that you have eyes that can see.

We all have something we’re grateful for. When you express this first thing in the morning you set the tone for the day. It can really change the whole perspective of your life or circumstance. If you can’t think of anything, if you’re one of those people, then tell yourself, “I know something wonderful will happen today.”

Even if you don’t quite feel it at first you can sit there. Don’t get out of bed. Say it again, “I know something wonderful will happen today.” Say it over and over until you get out of bed just saying it and you start feeling it. “I know something wonderful will happen today.” Then get out of bed and start your day with this expectancy that there is going to be something wonderful and magical in your day.

Living in wonder is a wonderful thing in and of its own. Just to be able to have the opportunity to live in wonder and wait for something. Be grateful for just having your senses. I talked about your eyes, your nose, your mouth, everything—to be able to speak, to sing, to look out on trees. To see nature, to see water, to see everything, to see your loved ones. It’s a marvelous thing when you’re in the mindset that everything is a blessing.

When you’re going through your day and you’re not feeling so well, you feel a little anxious. Put your hands on your heart. Take a few deep breaths into your Heart Center. Just be grateful for those breaths—for the in breath, for the exhalation. Feel it. Get yourself into presence, being present in the moment to be able to feel it, to be able to express gratitude for it.

It’s so important to feel your heart beating. There’s always something to be grateful for. It’s a question of where you want to place your awareness. Once again, where you focus your energy. That is the same direction in which you’re going to create. What this exercise does is get you to start practicing those positive intentions. Taking your thought to those positive, joyful, job-like areas.

We’re glad you joined us for this session. Much of what we teach here we take even deeper in our book “Bye-Bye Self-Sabotage!” Our meditations are all there as well. We have some CDs with those meditations. We have a membership site. We’d love it if you would take a look into it because it is awesome.

Welcome to 7 Abundance Hacks for Success in Any Situation!

Hack Strategy 1: How To Center Your Emotions with Tracy Latz and Doctor Marion Ross from shiftyourlife.com.

Much of what we’ll be talking about today we’ve covered already in our book Bye Bye Self-Sabotage. We also do intensive seminars covering these subjects in much more detail than we’re going to do today. We have online courses and a membership site at shiftyourlife.com.

What’s The Law of Attraction all about. What’s Abundance about? That’s the big question today. Many people are familiar with this concept to some degree but very simplistically.

It’s much like this gentleman. In his heart he’s thinking I want love, I want money and I want an attractive woman. Poof… With his heartfelt intention he attracts an attracting woman, a dog and unconditional love as well as money. Sounds pretty easy.

Unless you have any unconscious subconscious thoughts which are contradictory to that. This is what many people don’t talk about. What tends to limit people from being able to use the Law of Attraction and the Law of Abundance to their utmost ability.

Well in our books and then courses we’ve taught. We’ve talked about The Bow and Arrow Theory of Manifestation. And it goes like this. You see here angry Bob. Angry Bob has the anger you see holding over his heart. He’s thinking “All I ever get is crap that’s all I ever get.” and he’s now thinking I can go and create this wonderful thing through this this Law of Attraction.

What we talk about is having a bow and arrow, where we draw back the bow powerfully and that’s our emotion. The arrow that we put in is our thought. So we draw back powerfully. Here’s Bob so angry and his thought is “All I ever get is crap.” What happens? He draws back his bow with crap he gets crap.

That’s what you see. Negativity breeds negativity because that’s what you’re attracting. So here he is. He’s literally attracted crap with the Flies flying around it. What’s he doing? He says, “All I ever get is crap.”

The cycle continues. We all have been that person sometime. Where all we attract is negativity over and over. We wonder, how this happens? Because, we believe it’s the outside world that gives us what we have in our inside world. It’s our inside world. It’s who we are. How we think. What we believe. It’s how we create. So we have to be aware of in this lesson, as a hack, what are our emotions.

Our stuck emotions are the obstacles to the flow of our abundance. Some of the top ones are you may be familiar with one of these. The obstacle of feeling unloved. I’m so unlovable. Who could love me anyway. My parents never loved me. Why should anyone else love me. We’ve all felt that way. We also get stuck by guilt or shame.

We also feel abandoned at times. Who hasn’t felt anger and resentment. Well you can imagine if we’re drawing back that bow with anger, guilt, shame. When we release it. We will shoot very powerfully into the world. Being directed by the anger rather than what we actually are thinking in our mind. This is what I want in my life. We’re too busy being angry and that’s what we are creating with. It’s much like this beaver dam it stops our flow.

So how do negative emotions affect our lives? We all know it prevents us from experiencing any kind of love and joy. It prevents us from having intimate and loving relationships. It stops us from maximizing our health. It causes us to feel empty, restless with no sense of direction or purpose. It’s like really rolling that boulder uphill. Everything feels hard.

Feeling unloved is one of the most difficult emotions to overcome for a lot of people. Because they don’t even know they feel unloved. They manifest it in different ways. Feeling unlovable. How can you give to others when you’re feeling unloved yourself? You don’t even know what love is.

What keeps us from feeling loveable? There are so many things. Where Do We Begin? Loneliness, rejection, separation, negative life experiences, negative parental influences, guilt, shame, abandonment, unworthiness, grief and loss, shame, and embarrassment.

Guilt and shame are one of the things that makes us feel unloveable. It’s the obstacle that keeps us from having wonderful, intimate, exquisite and joyful relationships. Until removed we will continue to create repetitive painful relationship patterns.

Abandonment. We both felt abandoned at sometime. What makes us feel abandoned? Well, when a relationship ends or when you move, a sibling is born, we feel we failed, we get sick and our perception of who we are changes, we feel we’ve been abused, punished, humiliated, we feel disconnected or depressed, we relocate or travel with no support system whatsoever, old age, we are fired and can’t get a job, death of friends family, or addiction.

All of these make us feel abandoned. Anger and resentment. What truly makes us angry? Miscommunication. We feel wronged, violated, abused, betrayed, humiliated, (that’s a tough one) judgements, not appreciated, we feel stupid, others trying to control us, we feel out of control, we don’t feel perfect, we feel like a failure, we’re shamed or blamed or dissed or ignored. It’s a long list. It’s a violation of trust. We can go on forever.

We can hold onto anger for years sometimes. Some people do. They hold on to anger from childhood. They don’t even know why they’re angry anymore. So all of these things hold us and keep us from experiencing joy. But understand being angry is a choice. What do you mean it’s a choice? It’s really hard to believe it’s a choice if you feel angry you feel angry, don’t you? Well, there are only two valid reasons to feel angry. Violation of one’s rights as a human being. Which means that I just go up and punch Tracy in the nose for no reason. Or violation of trust of a vow or promise. So many people will get upset about all sorts of other things. We think that we feel very righteous in our anger.

But when we hold onto anger or any of these negative emotions, guilt, shame, abandonment from people. Maybe from when we were five or six or maybe yesterday. It’s like a ball and chain that holds us back. Whenever we choose to harbor thoughts linked to anger resentment or other negative emotions we tether ourselves energetically to that person or situation. We continue to draw similar negative experiences. Now read that again because it’s so important.

Energy follows thought.

We tend to energize what we think about. We can choose to think about that which limits us or abundance. I’m assuming if you’re watching this you want to create positive joyful experiences and you’re feeling like you’re struggling and doing that this is the first hack we’re going to give you tools and tips to let go of this ball and chain and these are just a few of the wealth of tools and tips that we teach.

Important points from the caveman.

We can’t create for anyone but our own self. The more powerful the emotion or intention the more rapidly we create. Remember that’s the more powerfully you pull your bow back. The more powerful that emotion. When you release the arrow it really flies. If we’re just sort of thinking, maybe, a little bit it doesn’t fly or create in our life at all. Your subconscious you have to be aware of. We create probably 90% from our subconscious mind. Our automatic thoughts not thoughts that were getting in the present. Our thoughts direct how the intention or great emotion actually manifest in or life. When you have conflicting intentions the more powerful one will create. If we draw our bows back with intention of harming others, we will only draw similar negative energies to our own lives.

Let’s talk about how to transform anger and resentment.

This is a meditation.

Get comfortable sitting, lying or standing. Close your eyes.

Picture yourself walking on a path. In the distance you see a mound or a rising hill in front of you. Walk up the path. It’s a beautiful sloping hill with beautiful green grass on either side. You can hear the crunching under your feet of gravel and maybe crunching of leaves as you walk up the path. You begin to crest this hill and you see a smoldering urn in front of you. In the center of a circle at the top of this hill.

Slowly approach the urn. You noticed that there is a smoldering fire & embers at the bottom of this urn. As you stand in front of this urn begin to connect with everything that has made you feel angry or resentful. Allow all of that anger and resentment to rise up from around your heart. It has been binding your heart like a huge cord. Feel that energy begin to come out of the center of your chest from around your heart and travel over to this urn and go into it.

As it enters the urn, see the embers burst into flames. Allow all of your anger and resentment to uncoil from you from around your heart and travel over. See it transform in this fire. See the smoke rise up into the sky.

Take a few moments and continue to release any anger or resentment that you may feel. Maybe from childhood wrongs that you experienced. Maybe from recent experiences as an adult, or maybe from adolescence.

Feel more and more release as the last tendrils and coils begin to flow over into this urn. Notice that the sun has gone down as this urn smoke lifts up and circling into the sky. Notice the twinkling stars up in the beautiful azure blue sky.

Feel a part of all the beauty. Feel how much lighter and freer you feel. Be aware that you can come and release anger, resentment and negativity here anytime that you choose.

We have other tools for releasing anger. We have a wonderful Qi Gong Emotional Release which is shaking. We have a Qigong Emotional Release which is based on the Shaolin Temple. It’s the precursor to EFT. It’s a wonderful technique that is very short and very, very efficient to release any kind of overwhelming emotion or phobia.

Let’s talk about another one. Let’s talk about the ceremonial anger release.

Well you can make a ceremony out of releasing your anger. You could write down names of people that you’re angry at or situations that you have been harboring anger towards. You can go out and set a small fire outside. Please don’t do this in your home. Or a bonfire outside.

You can place this name or this writing into the fire to be released and transformed. Fire is very transformative.

You can also bury it..

Another tool or technique is to tie it to a helium balloon. We caution you. You don’t want to have anything that would identify to you. Of what you have written down. Because it could fall in your neighborhood.

Another technique we have is called ‘La Cucaracha’ Technique. That’s really one that we use all the time and we teach all the time. Like when it’s Christmas and you have your mother-in-law there. You can’t really identify very well with your mother-in-law. She annoys the heck out of you. But you can’t resist seeing her. Because she’s part of your family.

So what do you do. What you do is. You picture this person, and it’s going to sound silly, as if they were a cockroach or an ant. Because you know ants and cockroaches do what they do. They have their own consciousness. We don’t sit and scream that the cockroach doesn’t come out during the day and only comes out at night when we turn the light on it runs away. We don’t scream that the ant is going in line with all the other ants doing with the ant does. Because that’s the consciousness of the ant. It’s an insect consciousness.

So you can picture whoever this is if you’re not ready to release the anger or resentment towards them. This isn’t disrespectfully. This is with respect. With the level of consciousness that they’re at. You are not calling in the exterminator. You’re just not taking this personally. What you’re doing is just seeing them as this insect consciousness. So that you don’t take what they’re doing purposefully. Or take it as a personal attack on you. Or a reflection of you. So you begin to actually have compassion to a degree, for the fact, that these people are where they are. They don’t know any better. It’s all good.

Another tool that rapidly releases any negativity or allows you to at least be in your heart while you were using the Law of Abundance. So that you’re not unwittingly creating from anger, guilt or shame or any of these negative emotions, is called the Loving Benefactor Meditation.

What you do is you focus on someone. Who represents absolute unconditional love or compassion to you. It could be someone who’s passed away already. Someone who is living. Could be someone you haven’t seen since you were 5 or 5 years ago. It could be a saint. It could be some sort of religious figure. If you don’t trust people it could be an animal. Or it could be a sunset. Anything that’s a great beauty in your life that opens your heart.

Don’t choose someone that you’re going to go into a grief reaction if you picture them, if they recently passed away. Don’t picture maybe your husband or spouse or a loved one if you just fought with them. Because then you may go to anger, guilt or shame. Choose who your Loving Benefactor is for now. It can change each time you do this.

Close your eyes.

Picture whoever this is as if they were sitting or standing in front of you right now. Look deeply into their eyes and feel or sense all their love and compassion flowing over to you. And allow yourself to receive it without judgment. If you feel you just have to send love to them first go ahead. Look deeply into their eyes and send your love over to them and you’ll sense that there’s a glowing of light almost around their head and shoulders.

Keep looking deeply into their eyes. Feel all of their love flowing over to you. Allow yourself to receive it. Look even deeper into their eyes. Sense the depth of their love and compassion for you. Usually by now you’ll sense or feel a sense of fullness or warmth in the center of your chest or the center of your heart. At this point you are in your loving self. When your in your loving self it’s impossible to be in your angry, resentful, guilty, frightened, controlling or any other self.

Continue to look into their eyes and feel their love flowing over to you. Now they slowly move around towards your left side. Around your left side all the way around your left shoulder, until eventually they are standing or sitting behind your left shoulder. Still sending you love. Now take a deep breath. And as you exhale gently open your eyes. You still feel your loving benefactor there.

Now use the Law of Abundance and Law of Attraction. Focus on what is your most heartfelt desire to manifest. Do you feel how your heart is opened. Well you can do this anytime.

Tips for Dealing With Empty Nest Syndrome

Articles, Body/Mind/Spirit, Inspiration, Marion Ross PhD, Meditation, Personal Transformation, Self Growth, Self-Help, The Shift Doctors, Tracy Latz MD

If we have done our job properly in raising our children, each child should eventually one day fly from the nest and out into the world to create wondrous independent lives, relationships and experiences of their own. While it is easy to understand this intellectually and logically, it is a bittersweet moment in the lives of parent and child alike. At the moment that a child leaves for college or moves away from home due to job or marriage/relationship, something irrevocably energetically changes in the parent-child relationship. The young vulnerable prince or princess that was born into your life is now a self-sufficient young adult with talents and gifts to share out in the world as they learn more about who they are through their relationships with others away from parental influence. Yes, things will never be the same… for child or parent.

When a child leaves home for college or other reasons, it is natural for parents to experience a mixture of emotions: pride at their child’s accomplishments, anxiety over their child’s safety in the world at large, joy and wonder to see their child spread their wings to fly, sadness over a sense of loss of nearness of a loved one, and occasional overwhelming rushes of bittersweet emotions as you reminisce over your child’s major milestones in life (birth, learning to walk, first day in kindergarten, learning to ride a bike, birthday celebrations, accomplishments, graduations, etc).

Young adults also have their own mix of emotions over making the transition from home to college or self-sufficiency. It is common for children leaving home to experience excitement over anticipated new experiences and friendships, fear of possible failure, angst over being away from parents who have been their in support of them emotionally and financially, sadness over distance from and loss of siblings/friends/significant others, and thirst/desire for knowledge or expanding their talents/gifts.

What can be done to ease the transition for both parent, young adult and siblings as the nest becomes less crowded?

Bringing the Ancient Mysteries to the Web

Energy Medicine, Holistic Healing, Qigong, Vibrational Medicine

Bringing the Ancient Mysteries to the web with a minimal cost to the member / initiate. While we understand there is no comparison to the merit of being in a quiet retreat setting with accessible mentors to intensely study away from stressors that you may find in a physical Mystery School like Delphi University where we both received our training, the cost is prohibitively expensive and the time away from work/family is very difficult to achieve for many – especially if you are not supported in your journey by your colleagues and/or Loved Ones. For instance, the initial course (of many courses) in our training was over a 10-day period with a cost of just under $2000. We want to help others understand what we learned at a cost and in a time frame that makes it achievable in order to help as many people as possible understand who they truly are – beyond the ego.

We desire to assist in raising consciousness in these times when so many are trapped in fear expressing as anger, resentment and war-like behaviors. Raising consciousness and being on the path to awareness is not just about spending time meditating. One has to awaken awareness and choose to rewire the brain to create a different pattern than old habitual, reactive thinking. When you think, feel, and act with the same beliefs the same way day in and day out, change is not possible. When you are ready to start your own inner journey, we will give you the tools to achieve a level of awareness and become a more heart-centered, wise person that sees the big picture and no longer lives their life reactively.

For people who struggle to meditate, we will give you various approaches (different passive/sitting and active/moving meditations) as well as attunements to create ease in your journey. For more experienced meditators, we will also offer more advanced meditations to take your practice to another level.

For those interested in Qigong, Energy Medicine, Holistic Healing, and Vibrational Medicine (Essential Oils, Color and Sound Healing, etc), we have been studying these modalities for years and have the credentials to deliver a usable understanding of these techniques and tools to you for your personal transformation.

We also are offering an Entura mini-membership for Entura artists who have taken a course in this modality and wish to continue their interaction with others to learn more about interpretation. We will share monthly topics to inspire artists to continue to delve deeper beyond the veil with this unique technique that allows you to take your intuitive development profoundly deeper. This modality allows you to readily channel information from your soul, the soul of Loved Ones (deceased or living), pets, animals, places, spiritual beings, etc. to transmit information and understanding without words. And the art (done with eyes closed) continually changes over time.

We are offering 2 levels of membership at present – Silver and Gold – to make it affordable to all. You will receive monthly teachings by video, audio and occasional pdf’s. And we respond to YOUR request for what you want to learn. All members may offer subject topics and then the membership will choose a topic from suggested topics – and we will also offer a teacher’s choice of topics from our training experiences.

Check out the Membership Site information page to see the full details and to determine which membership is right for you!
